Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) has received information about a scam by which individuals claiming to work for ICE’s Detention Reporting and Information Line target noncitizens via phone. Apparently, the imposters contacted individual noncitizens claiming there were issues with their immigration case and offered to rectify the situation for money.
Please note that ICE’s Detention Reporting and Information Department makes no outbound calls whatsoever and will never request money from noncitizens. Should you receive a suspicious call as described above call ICE at 866-347-2423. Alternatively, you may call any of our offices and we’ll report any incidents for you.
