The deadline to register for TPS (temporary protected status) for Yemen is March 1, 2016. Accordingly, all Yemeni nationals or persons without nationality who last resided in Yemen, should register as soon as possible.
To be eligible for TPS, all applicants must demonstrate that they satisfy the eligibility criteria, one of which is having been both “continually present” and “continuously residing” in the United STates since September 3, 2015. As always, all applicants over age 14 will have to undergo security checks. Applicants with certain criminal records are precluded from receiving TPS designation.
The benefit of TPS is that persons granted TPS will not be removed from the United sTates and they receive employment authorization.
