Sarita joins Maney, Gordon, Zeller, P.A. with over 13 years of legal experience, covering a multitude of different practice areas, including but not limited to, Immigration Law, Family Law, Criminal Law and Business Law. Immigration Law is not only where most of her legal experience lies, but it is also one of the most fulfilling areas of practice for her, as she finds helping people immigrate from all over the world and discovering opportunities for them and their families to live the “American Dream” very rewarding. She is originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and is an immigrant herself.
She attended the University of Alberta, Canada where she received an undergraduate degree, completing a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. After graduating, she attended law school at Ohio Northern University, Claude W. Pettit College of Law, and graduated in 2001. In the four years preceding her move to Houston, Texas in 2004, she worked in the field of Immigration Law and Personal Injury Law. Her Immigration experience includes handling Family-Based, Petitions, Business Immigration/Employment-Based Immigration cases including but not limited to TN Visas, H-1B Visas, F-1 Student Visas, Fiancé Visas, Green Card applications on the Family side as well as Employment side, Investor Visas, and Naturalization applications, among others. After becoming licensed in Texas in 2005, she worked at a national tax advisory firm and specialized in providing federal and state tax credits, incentives, exemptions and deductions, among other specialty tax services to a broad spectrum of clients throughout the United States, ranging from individuals and start-up companies to Fortune 1000 corporations. In January 2007, she formed her own practice, which she had been managing, and actively expanding for the previous 11 years before to coming to MGZ. She feels her prior experience will help MGZ, specifically the Albuquerque office, reach new heights, and looks forward to making meaningful contributions in achieving excellence.
Aside from managing her practice, she also has been expanding her family for the past several years. Sarita also enjoys practicing yoga, Taekwondo with her family, volunteering at the hospital/providing support to cancer patients, spending quality time with her husband who is a Radiation Oncologist, and last but not least, being a mother to her 3 beautiful children, a 9 year old boy, 5 year old girl, and 3 year old girl.
